Perfect temperature. Perfect. The rest of you might be freezing, but I am loving it.
Today Dave took the day off to volunteer at the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. Apparently General Authorities schedule visits ahead of the regular open house so they need help with that. Well, no General Authorities were scheduled for today so he isn't needed, but took the day off anyway. I'm working this morning and then we are running away and taking the kids to Thanksgiving Point. We are going to the Dinosaur Museum, the Barnyard, and maybe the gardens to wander around. The point is, we are going to wear them (and us) out. And get them some of that thing called education.
This evening I will probably work on the yard, putting down weed barrier and adding mulch. I may plant the rest of the plants that are just sitting in their containers in the backyard waiting for me. Or I might just sit on the front porch, sipping fresh mint tea (we have a LOT of mint at the moment and apparently just steeping it in hot water helps with digestion. Did I just say that?) and watching the world go by.
I love Spring. Not a huge fan of mid-summer heat, but I love the 60's and 70's (temps, not decades). I love not having the heat or air on and opening the windows during the day. I love that my kids are old enough to ride their bikes all over the place for hours and play army with their friends and hunt for worms and potato bugs. I love that I already have a green bell pepper growing on my plant and it is the size of a walnut. I love, I love, I love!

Here Comes the Sun!
I have a morning ritual. I wake up, grab my zone bar or whatever I am choosing to eat prior to working out, and head for the computer. I open the blinds to see what the day will be like. Prior to starting P90X it was light outside in the mornings. Now it is dark, but I can at least see if it is snowing. Yesterday morning there were 3 inches on the ground with more snow falling. Today there is nothing on the ground and the sun is out. Welcome to Spring.
I'm ready for Spring, but not in a I-am-sick-of-the-snow way. Yesterday I was bugged about the snow because I think Saturdays should be reserved for Sunny days year round. Plus I had hoped to get a few more Spring crops in the SFG box. Alas, it was not to be. Maybe I will sneak out there today and plant. Is it working on Sunday if you poke a hole in the ground and drop a seed in it?
Today I am also happy that it is sunny because we are headed to my cousin's baby blessing after the morning session of General Conference. Then we are headed down to Springville for dinner. Food fest! I must bring my portion control plate. :) It's always nice to be able to drive in pleasant weather versus snowstorm. Don't you agree?

Oh, It is Wonderful!
It is currently almost 60 degrees outside. In Utah. In February. Which makes me very happy, even if there are storm clouds rolling in. At 60 degrees it is way too warm to snow. To celebrate, we had our first trip to the park. No jackets needed.
While there, I realized that Clara is almost three. Which means no more hovering around the jungle gym. She can play. Which means I could like, take a book to the park while the kids play and stuff. Holy cow. Freedom is attacking me on all sides. Or close to it.
I also realized that knowing everyone in the world has its advantages. For example, yesterday I got to go to lunch with Melissa because she graced me with her presence. And then today I was at the park at the same time as Melissa so we went on a walk about while the kids ran to the bridge and back. So basically, I get to have playtime with my friends, too, when I go to the park. I love my neighborhood. Really every day it gets better.
Then we came home and I got to see Keysha for the first time in a week. It's unsettling when people are out of town. It affects the balance of the neighborhood too much.
We had a very busy and fun weekend. Friday night the Crazy Comptons came over while their mom and dad had a hot date. Then Saturday I planted some starts in my little greenhouse pod, we went to lunch at Ama and Papa's house, and worked on some projects. Sunday I taught Relief Society and then we had friends over for dinner and the Academy Awards. Last night the Suds came over for Family Night. Tonight I am going to bed early, hopeing that Spring is just around the corner!
